Opening of “Piso A” in the North Campus Library
On March 12, the so-called “Piso A” was inaugurated in the North Campus Library, which is conceived as a new space for recreation and leisure for the university community, a place where cultural, recreational and reading promotion activities will be encouraged. Among its attractions are a newspaper library, a comic library, a board game lending module and a film club; in addition, events focused on enriching the academic and social life of the campus will be held periodically.
This new space was made possible thanks to the joint effort of the Vice Rector's Office for Integral Formation, the FESAL and the Library Directorate. The inauguration was attended by the Rector, Fr. Cipriano Sánchez, L.C.; the Director of the Library, Ms. Alma Cázares; the Vice Rector for Integral Formation, Mr. Fernando Rincón; and the Director of Administration, Ms. Silvia Villaseñor; as well as Gerardo Guardiola Madrigal the President of the Federation of Alumni Societies (FESAL) 2024-2025.
During her speech, Alma Cázares emphasized that this space aims to become “a meeting point, a place where ideas converge, where conversations flourish and where the bonds of friendship are strong and lasting. A space where the community is the central axis of participation, following the words of our rector: 'The greatness of man is revealed in the ability to transmit to future generations the benefits of their joint actions'”.
We invite the entire university community to get to know and take advantage of this new space. “Piso A” is located on the 5th floor of the Library building, in the North Campus, and is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm.
We look forward to seeing you!
