Workshop on Methodologies in Clinical Bioethics brings together more than 130 professionals

Dr. María Elizabeth de los Ríos taught this training in Ixtlahuaca, State of Mexico, which reinforces the importance of bioethics in medical decision-making.

 

On March 19, 2025, Dr. María Elizabeth de los Ríos Uriarte, research coordinator at the School of Bioethics, taught the Workshop on Methodologies for Approaching and Analyzing Clinical Cases in Ixtlahuaca, State of Mexico. This training was aimed at members of the bioethics committees of hospitals in the State of Mexico and organized by the Bioethics Commission of the State of Mexico.

 

The event was attended by more than 130 healthcare professionals who discussed strategies for identifying and resolving ethical dilemmas in the clinical setting. During the workshop, the need to strengthen bioethics training was highlighted, especially in the application of structured methodologies that allow for more thoughtful and informed decision-making in complex cases.

 

The speaker emphasized the importance of strengthening the training of hospital bioethics committees to ensure a comprehensive and humane approach to medical care. She also highlighted the need to educate healthcare personnel in identifying ethical and moral dilemmas, emphasizing the fundamental role of these committees in finding solutions that prioritize patient well-being and respect for human dignity.

 

This meeting reaffirms bioethics' commitment to clinical practice, promoting reflection and the development of tools to address ethical challenges in the healthcare field. It also underscores the importance of continually evaluating and strengthening hospital committees to optimize their functioning and impact on medical decision-making.
