We strengthen ties between the School of Bioethics and the ANMB

Experts presented graduate and continuing education programs at a conference marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration to promote bioethical training and dialogue in Mexico and around the world.

On April 8, 2025, in an important effort to strengthen academic and institutional ties in the field of bioethics, the Mexican National Academy of Bioethics (ANMB) and the School of Bioethics of Anáhuac University Mexico held a joint session that brought together leading specialists and authorities in the field.

The event featured the participation of Dr. José Alberto Castilla Barajas, director of the School of Bioethics; Dr. Elvira Llaca García, coordinator of the PhD in Bioethics; and Dr. María Inés Girault, coordinator of the Master's in Global Bioethics. During their presentations, the doctors presented the School's graduate programs, which are designed to provide solid interdisciplinary training in research methodologies with the aim of fostering a deep and critical bioethical perspective among its students.

Dr. Montserrat Urban Oropeza, coordinator of the Center for Continuing Education, gave a presentation entitled "Continuing Education in Bioethics: The Impact of Bioethics and its Academic Training at the National and International Level," in which she addressed the objectives of the programs offered by the center. Her presentation highlighted how these initiatives contribute to ongoing professional development and the strengthening of bioethics as an academic discipline in diverse cultural and geographical contexts.

This joint session represents a significant step in consolidating the collaboration between the ANMB and the School of Bioethics at Anáhuac University Mexico, institutions that reaffirm their commitment to promoting bioethical dialogue and training professionals with a humanistic and critical perspective on contemporary challenges.

The event not only underscored the importance of bioethics in academia, but also marked the beginning of a relationship that promises to generate new opportunities for cooperation, research, and dissemination in the field of bioethics, both nationally and internationally.
