In this virtual space, the participants shared their knowledge in the field of bioethics, seeking feedback that contributes and enriches their work and research.
On June 9, 2023, the V Research Colloquium organized by the Faculty of Bioethics of the Universidad Anáhuac México was held virtually, a space that included the participation of students from our programs, researchers, professors, as well as of students and researchers from other institutions, with whom they exchanged ideas.
The inaugural conference was given by Professor Raúl Jiménez Piña, director of the Center for Bioethical Knowledge of the National Bioethics Commission (CONBIOÉTICA), who shared relevant information about the functions of said center and invited attendees to use the services and resources what this institution offers.
Among the outstanding presentations are "Global Bioethics: A comprehensive approach to insufficient management of chronic pain and the epidemic of opioid abuse" given by Dr. David Cerdio Domínguez, general coordinator of the Anahuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics, CADEBI, and "How to understand the interdisciplinarity in bioethics” by Dr. Raúl Ruiz Canizales, researcher at the Law School of the Autonomous University of Querétaro.
There was also a presentation by Dr. Margarita Otero Llamas, student of the Doctorate in Applied Bioethics and coordinator of the Master's in Bioethics face-to-face, who gave the topic "Effect of training in personal bioethics on the comprehensive care of primary caregivers in palliatives”. For his part, Dr. Rafael Bustos Saldaña, a student at the Faculty of Bioethics, gave the presentation "Validation of an instrument for the application of principialist bioethical principles in clinical research protocols."
Subsequently, "Bioethics in its weight from interdisciplinarity to transdisciplinarity" by Dr. Roberto Delgado Suárez, student of the Doctorate in Applied Bioethics, while Dr. Agustín Ortega Cabrera, associate researcher at the Faculty of Bioethics, presented the topic " Geniuses for the good life: talent, psychology and intelligence in an integral ecology bioethics.
Continuing with the program, Dr. Leonardo Souza García, professor of the Bioethics Master's, addressed the topic "Technological innovation and bioethics: challenges and proposals in a fast-paced world" and to conclude the talk "Bioenvironmentalism and biomaterials" by the architect Jaime Alberto Cruz from the La Salle University of Pachuca.
Dr. Salvador Bueno Valenzuela, director of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Universidad Anáhuac México, closed this Colloquium, he spoke about the history of the magazine Medicina y Ética, in which he participated in its beginnings as editor, and emphasized the role played by Dr. Kuthy Porter and Father Jesús Quirce Andrés, L.C., in making this publication a reality.
To conclude, Dr. María Elizabeth de los Ríos Uriarte, research coordinator at the Faculty of Bioethics, thanked the speakers and participants, and invited attendees to continue consulting the activities and forums on research and bioethics carried out by our Faculty.
