Our School of Bioethics professor will chair the academy for the biennium 2022-2024.
On August 12, 2022, in the Hospital Ángeles Metropolitano Auditorium, the board of directors of the Mexican National Academy of Bioethics, A.C., took place, an event in which Dr. Samuel Weingerz Mehl, professor of the Master's degree in Bioethics in Spanish and the doctorate in Applied Bioethics from our Faculty of Bioethics, assumed the presidency for the biennium 2022 - 2024.
Mrs. Arely Cerón was present at the board change ceremony, representing the National Bioethics Commissioner, Dr. Patricio Santillán Doherty.
The Mexican National Academy of Bioethics, A.C. It was founded 30 years ago by Dr. Manuel Velasco Suárez and is one of the most important civil organizations in the field of Bioethics in Latin America and Mexico.
With these actions, the Faculty of Bioethics of the Universidad Anáhuac México demonstrates its commitment to leadership in the field of Bioethics and social responsibility in Mexico.

Dr. Samuel Weingerz Mehl has a degree in Medical Surgeon and a specialty in Gynecology and Obstetrics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); the master's degree in Bioethics, with honorable mention, and the doctorate in Bioethics from the Universidad Anáhuac México; in addition to a diploma in Colposcopy and another in Senior Hospital Management.
In addition, he is a bioethicist and researcher at the Dr. Manuel Gea González General Hospital in Mexico City; president of the Hospital Bioethics Committee at the General Hospital Dr. Manuel Gea González; President of the Research Ethics Committee at the Dr. Manuel Gea González General Hospital, and now President of the Mexican National Academy of Bioethics, A.C.
He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a full member of the Mexican College of Specialists in Gynecology and Obstetrics, and a member of the International Association of Bioethics.
