Our faculty of bioethics carried out the 14th session of the Dear Amazonia seminar with the theme: “Social Responsibility and Sustainability in the Face of the Economy”.
On this occasion we had the pleasure of having the presentation "Social Responsibility and Sustainability in the Economy" by Dr. Lorena Miranda, coordinator of the Latin American Center for Social Responsibility at the Universidad Anáhuac México.
Dr. Lorena Miranda introduced the topic on corporate and governmental social responsibility, based on current needs in times of pandemic, modifying and improving the way we innovate and act in search of the welfare state and social solidarity to optimize operation of a community; It is from this search that social responsibility arises, which mediates society, the government and the business sector and seeks to ensure long-term sustainability; both of each individual and of the individual.
The above, maintains the speaker, is linked to the proposal of Pope Francis on the development of countries and the three guidelines under which it should be promoted, and these are: responsibility, solidarity, and subsidiarity.
To close this presentation, Dr. Lorena Miranda places constant emphasis on sustainable finance and how these should provide institutions with the elements that allow combining financial objectives with social and environmental values that promote transformation in favor of people and the Common House in a context of peace and justice with the intention of achieving a more inclusive, sustainable and resilient world.
