This new publication explores the convergence between the Jesuit Ignacio Ellacuría and Pope Francis in the context of global imbalances.
We are proud to announce the recent publication of the book From Ellacuría to Pope Francis: Christian social thought in the face of global imbalance, a work that, after four years of development, brings together fifteen authors from different countries, including Spain , United States, Germany, Colombia, El Salvador and Mexico.
This volume has been compiled by Dr. José Sols, member of the Querida Amazonía Study Group of the School of Bioethics of the Universidad Anáhuac México, and has the participation of Dr. Ma. Elizabeth de los Ríos Uriarte, research coordinator from the same faculty, who contributes with the chapter “Transforming reality from liberation and with holiness: from Ellacuría to Pope Francis.” The work is now available on Amazon, Apple Books and Casa del Libro.
This book invites readers to a deep dialogue between two crucial figures of the Catholic Church: the Jesuit Ignacio Ellacuría and Pope Francis. Explores the affinities, differences and convergences between the thoughts of Ellacuría, philosopher and social martyr murdered in El Salvador in 1989, and Pope Francis, known for his pastoral and transformative leadership in the Church. Through an exhaustive analysis, the authors seek to understand contemporary reality from the critical perspective of Ellacuría and the pastoral message of Pope Francis.
The work generates an inspiring dialogue to address current global imbalances, while exploring how both leaders, with their different approaches, share a commitment to social justice and humanity. This reading offers the reader an opportunity to reflect on how Gospel values can contribute to a more just and equitable world in the 21st century.
We extend an invitation to immerse yourself in this work, which will undoubtedly be an inspiration for those who seek to understand and transform reality from a Christian perspective.
