Martha Patricia Hernández, new vice president of the ANMB board of directors

Patricia Hernández, recognized for her career in bioethics and human rights, assumes this position with a strong commitment to the development of bioethics in Mexico.

 

On August 21, 2024, a solemn ceremony was held chaired by the commissioner of CONBIOÉTICA, Patricio Santillán Doherty, where the Mexican National Academy of Bioethics (ANMB) announced the appointment of its new Board of Directors for the period 2024-2026 .

 

A notable appointment was that of Martha Patricia Hernández Valdez, member of the School of Bioethics, who was unanimously elected as the new Vice President of the Academy. 

 

Martha Patricia Hernández, recognized for her career in bioethics and human rights, assumes this position with a strong commitment to the promotion and development of bioethics in Mexico. In her acceptance speech, Hernández expressed her gratitude and responsibility for being selected, and reaffirmed her dedication to continuing the work of her predecessors, facing the ethical challenges presented by an increasingly globalized world. 

 

The ANMB, founded in 1995, is a non-profit civil association dedicated to research, teaching, dissemination and promotion of bioethics in close correlation with human rights. It attracts professionals and intellectuals from various disciplines, interested in addressing the ethical dilemmas that arise in the field of life and health sciences, as well as in other areas of knowledge. 

 

The appointment of Hernández as Vice President represents an important step in the ANMB's mission to strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue and promote an ethical and moral approach in making decisions that impact human life.
