The coordinator of the online Master's in Bioethics spoke about the approach of patient autonomy, based on the ability to make free and informed decisions.
On June 28, 2023, the Cycle of Conferences of the National Bioethics Commission (CONBIOÉTICA) was held, an event in which Martha Patricia Hernández Valdez, coordinator of the Master's in Bioethics online, gave the conference "Competence and capacity for clinical decision making.
In her presentation, she pointed out and emphasized the meaning of autonomy today, as well as its elements and its connection with freedom, highlighting dimensions of the human being, biological, psychological, social and spiritual, which have an important role in making of decisions.
Finally, she stressed the ability to make decisions, based on the guidelines that determine the degree of autonomy of each person.
