During the course, they acquired essential knowledge on how to act in various medical emergencies.
On Friday, July 12, 2024, the facilities of the North Campus of the Universidad Anáhuac México hosted the first aid workshop, which was taught by social service intern doctors from the School of Bioethics.
On this occasion, 10 Legionary of Christ priests participated in an intensive day of first aid training and acquired essential knowledge on how to act in various medical emergencies.
Topics covered included measuring and evaluating vital signs, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques, and identifying and managing common emergencies. In addition, situations such as cerebrovascular events, hemorrhages, fractures, sprains, syncope and airway obstruction, among others, were covered.
And not only was a solid theoretical basis offered, but at the end a practical dynamic was carried out in which the priests applied what they had learned through emergency simulations, allowing them to consolidate the knowledge acquired and demonstrate their ability to act effectively and in a timely manner in critical situations.
With this initiative, the School of Bioethics of the Universidad Anáhuac México provided participants with essential skills for caring for medical emergencies, and guaranteeing a rapid and adequate response in situations where a person's life may be at risk.
Without a doubt, this course was received with enthusiasm and gratitude by the priests, who highlighted the importance of having this type of knowledge in their daily work, thus reaffirming the commitment of our University to comprehensive training and service to the community, providing valuable tools that can make a difference in decisive moments.
