Dr. José Alberto Castilla Barajas, director of the School of Bioethics, participated on August 20, 2024, in a conference organized by the Academia Mexiquense de Medicina, A.C. (AMM) at the Siglo XXI University Center. During his speech, he underlined the importance of bioethical training in the professional practice of health workers, emphasizing how these principles are fundamental to guarantee ethical and quality medical care.

 

The Mexican Academy of Medicine is a civil association that brings together schools, medical associations and specialists in different fields of health, with the purpose of promoting the improvement of patient care and the general well-being of the population. This is achieved through continuing medical education and the development of public policy proposals based on scientific research, academia, humanism and bioethics.

 

The AMM maintains strong alliances with various institutions and organizations that share the common goal of promoting quality patient care and people's well-being. These collaborations seek to promote continuing medical education, strengthen academia and promote scientific research. 

 

Dr. Castilla, with his extensive experience in the field of bioethics, highlighted how comprehensive training in this area not only prepares professionals to face ethical dilemmas in their daily practice, but also allows them to act with responsibility and respect for human rights. His speech resonated with attendees, highlighting the need to integrate bioethics as an essential pillar in medical education and practice.
