Outstanding speakers join the Intensive Week of the Doctorate in Bioethics

In this space, fundamental topics in the field of bioethics were explored, including the perspective of personalist bioethics in public health, global bioethics in the private sector, and bioethics in physical therapy.

 

During the Intensive Week of the Doctorate in Bioethics, held from March 12 to 14, 2024 at our North Campus, an event full of learning and academic exchange was held in which prominent speakers shared their research and reflections on relevant topics in the field of bioethics.

 

Dr. Marco Antonio Navarrete Prida presented “Personalistic bioethics: a challenge for public health administration”, where he explored the ethical complexities that public health management faces from a personalistic perspective, offering new ideas and challenges to those who dedicated to this area.

 

Dr. Gustavo Pérez Berlanga's (Master in Social Responsibility, gen. '14) presentation, revolved around “The global application in a private sector company” in which he highlighted the importance of applying global bioethical principles in the food industry ultra-processed foods and sugary drinks, highlighting the ethical responsibility of companies in promoting public health.

Physiotherapists Jimena Figueroa Valero (Mexico), Paola Penagos Gómez (Colombia) and Amanda García Barrera (Colombia) also participated in this event in which they shared their vision on the importance of bioethics in the field of physiotherapy. Their presentation turned this academic space into a unique international experience, as they explored the intersection between medical ethics and the practice of physical therapy, highlighting the importance of ethical considerations in the care and rehabilitation of patients.

 

This intensive week not only provided a space for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between speakers and attendees, but also reaffirmed the commitment of Anahuac University to academic excellence and the promotion of ethics in all facets of professional and personal life. Furthermore, the presence of participants from different countries enriched the diversity of perspectives.

 

Without a doubt, this Intensive Doctoral Week in Bioethics left a lasting mark on the students, inspiring them to address contemporary ethical challenges with rigor and compassion.
