Patricia Hernandez participates in the First Symposium on Bioethics in Dentistry

The Coordinator of the online Master's Degree in Bioethics led a course on ethical application in dentistry.

 

On May 29, 2024, within the framework of the first Symposium on Bioethics in Dentistry, organized by the Social Security Institute of the State of Mexico and Municipalities (ISSEMyM) and the Government of the State of Mexico, Dr. Patricia Hernández Valdez, coordinator of the online Master's Degree in Bioethics, taught a workshop course titled "The Application of Bioethics in Dentistry."

 

With extensive assistance from professionals in this field, the course aimed to provide a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of bioethics and their application in the specific field of dentistry. Throughout the day, the doctor guided the participants through an analysis of the ethical principles that govern dental practice, encouraging reflection on the common ethical dilemmas that professionals face in their work.

 

Among the objectives of the course were:

  • Understand the Fundamental Principles of Bioethics: Participants acquired a solid understanding of the basic ethical principles that guide dental practice from a bioethical perspective. 

  • Apply Ethical Principles to Specific Situations in the Field of Dentistry: Various situations were explored where an ethical analysis is required to make informed and morally responsible decisions within the field of dentistry. 

  • Reflect on Common Ethical Dilemmas in Dental Practice: A space for active reflection was promoted where participants could share and discuss ethical dilemmas they face in their professional practice, thus enriching their perspective and problem-solving skills. ethical problems. 

  • Develop Skills for Making Informed Ethical Decisions: Attendees strengthened their ability to make informed ethical decisions, considering relevant bioethical principles and the implications of their actions on patient care.

 

Dr. Hernández's course was received with enthusiasm and appreciation by the participants, highlighting the relevance and pertinence of the topics addressed in her professional practice. Without a doubt, this event marks an important milestone in the promotion and dissemination of bioethics in the field of dentistry in the State of Mexico.
