Relevant data of the magazine was highlighted: since 1990, it has been published quarterly without interruption, it is free, since 2015 only original articles began to be published and in 2017 it made the leap to the OJS online platform.
On November 29, 2022, Dr. María Elizabeth De los Ríos Uriarte, research coordinator of the Faculty of Bioethics of our University, and Mtra. Adriana Sánchez Escalante, editor of academic journals of the Coordination of Academic Publications, presented the latest issue of the Medicine and Ethics magazine at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2022.
During the event, relevant data from the magazine was highlighted, which has been consolidated for 32 years, such as; since 1990, it has been published quarterly without interruption, it is a free journal, and since 2015 only original articles and In 2017, it made the leap to the OJS online platform and with this it also began to be published in English.
On the other hand, they mentioned the incredible effort that it implies for the journal to be in prestigious international indexers, such as The Philosopher's Index, Latindex 2.0 Catalog, Latindex Directory, Latin American Bibliography in scientific and social research journals (BIBLAT), MIAR, Dialnet, Sherpa, DOAJ, and the Top 100 Bioethics Journals in the World from the Bioethic Research Library, Georgetown University.
They highlighted that these indexings serve to strengthen the scientific and argumentative rigor of the accepted articles, have endowed the journal with academic excellence and have positioned it as a recognized and certified platform with the highest quality standards for authors to make their academic work visible and bring out relevant and pertinent issues for national and international dialogue for the complex reality that we live today.
It is worth mentioning that the journal Medicina y Ética is the Bioethics publication with the longest trajectory, number of users, has a regular and constant publication frequency, as well as originality in its topics, has authors of both national and international relevance and, above all, with higher indexing, only this year and until November 23, had a total of nine thousand seven hundred and ninety-seven article downloads.
To conclude, the presenters recognized that there is still much to achieve and they are directing their efforts to achieve more indexing and continue to provide a platform of articles of interest so that readers stay up to date on the latest bioethical conversations and are provided with academic and high impact vision
