On this occasion, three experts from the Anahuac University Network addressed topics such as artificial intelligence and biohacking.
On October 8, we held the sixth webinar of the Bioethics Centers of the Anahuac University Network entitled "The paradigm shift in medicine: curing vs perfecting", projected from the Smart Room of the Anahuac University Oaxaca and in which we were accompanied 353 students to hear the perspective of each of our three speakers.
The central theme revolved around Neil Harbisson, a British activist recognized as a cyborg, since he has an implant in his head that allows him to perceive infrared colors, videos and music through an antenna.
Among the invited speakers, neurosurgeon Oscar Josué Montes Aguilar, from the XXI Century National Medical Center “La Raza”, spoke about hearing implants and robotics in neurosurgery; the doctor in philosophy of law, Nicéforo Guerrero Espinosa, coordinator at the Faculty of Law of the Anahuac University, who addressed the issue of legal regulation and artificial intelligence, and the doctor and master in philosophy and bioethics, Thelma Peón Hernández, coordinator of the subject of Leadership for the Academic Direction of Comprehensive Training in said institution, who presented her point of view on transhumanism and biohacking.
The Bioethics Centers of the Anahuac University Network seek, through interdisciplinarity, the training of students with a solid knowledge of personalistic bioethics that achieves citizens oriented towards social responsibility and knowledgeable about current bioethical issues.
