Promoting Innovation: New Strategic Alliance Strengthens Technological Education in Mexico

Iberoamerican Technology Foundation, Anahuac University and Santander Universities join forces to offer advanced courses in emerging technologies.

On August 26, 2024, the Iberoamerican Technology Foundation (ITF), Anahuac University and Santander Universities signed an agreement to promote training in emerging technologies, semiconductors and electromobility in Mexico. This strategic agreement aims to improve the quality of education through access to advanced courses developed by leading US universities such as Harvard University and Arizona State University.

Objective of the Alliance

The agreement between the three entities focuses not only on access to quality content, but also on the certification of Anahuac University faculty in key areas of technological knowledge. Disciplines such as data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, quantum computing and integrated circuit design are among the specializations that will be promoted through this collaboration.

Fernando Sepúlveda, president of ITF, emphasized the importance of this initiative: “Education is the foundation of technological and economic development. This alliance will not only benefit Anahuac University but will also have a positive impact on the entire region by closing the technological skills gap.”

Benefits for Anahuac University

Anahuac University, recognized for its commitment to training positive action leaders, will directly benefit from this agreement by integrating these courses into its academic curriculum. According to Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, L.C., Rector of said Institution, "This collaboration strengthens our commitment to providing cutting-edge education. Our faculty will be better prepared to impart knowledge in emerging technologies, benefiting students and ultimately society.

José Mata Temoltzin, rector of Anahuac Puebla University, added: "This agreement is fundamental to our goal of training highly qualified professionals who can contribute to Mexico's progress and innovation.

The role of Santander Universities and its commitment to education

As part of its mission to promote higher education in Mexico, Santander Universities will play a key role in this agreement by providing financial and logistical support. Dr. Arturo Cherbowski Lask, Managing Director of Santander Universities Mexico, said: "We are proud to be part of this initiative. Our goal is to ensure that all students have access to a quality education that allows them to compete in the global marketplace.”

International collaboration model

A key feature of this alliance is the collaboration with prestigious universities in the United States. Through the ITF, Anahuac University will have access to advanced courses provided by Harvard University and Arizona State University, which will be offered not only in English, but also adapted into Spanish to facilitate access for students and teachers.

The ITF's commitment includes adapting and administering the courses in Spanish, ensuring that the language barrier is not an obstacle to learning. This is fundamental to the alliance's goal of "democratizing access to quality education in emerging technologies".

Impact on education and the labor market

The importance of this agreement lies in its ability to prepare students and teachers for the challenges of the future. With the rapid evolution of technology, the demand for professionals trained in emerging fields is constantly increasing. This strategic agreement responds to these demands by providing the academic community with the tools and knowledge necessary to excel in a competitive job market.

In summary, the alliance between the Iberoamerican Technology Foundation, Anahuac University and Santander Universities represents a significant advance in technological education in Mexico. Through this collaboration, unique opportunities will be offered for students and teachers to access high-level courses aligned with the latest technological trends.

This collaborative effort will not only strengthen higher education in Mexico but will also contribute to the country's economic and social development, taking a decisive step toward a more inclusive education that meets the demands of the 21st century.
