Presentation of awards to Anáhuac Lions who shone at the Paris 2024 Games
Anáhuac University congratulated its Olympic and Paralympic athletes for their outstanding participation in the Paris 2024 Games, recognizing their efforts and the vital support of their coaches and families.
On Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024, Anáhuac University held a special ceremony to acknowledge the effort and commitment of the students who participated in the Paris 2024 Games. The event was held at the North Campus in the presence of authorities, athletes and the university community.
Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, Rector of Anáhuac México University, presided over the event in the company of important dignitaries, including Liliana Suárez Carreón, President of the Mexican Paralympic Committee. During their speeches, both the Rector and the other participants underlined the importance of combining sporting and academic excellence and highlighted the comprehensive support that the university provides to its students so that they can excel in both areas. Among the authorities present were César Hernández Rendón, vice-rector of Anahuac Integral Formation; María Consolación Caballero Martínez, director of Anahuac Leadership and Excellence; Pablo Villalvazo Hernández, coordinator of the Elite Sports Excellence Program; and Manuel Sotomayor Landecho, director of the Mexiquense Institute of Physical Culture and Sport.
Our Anáhuac Lions not only defended the colors of Mexico but also embodied the values and excellence that distinguish our university. In every competition, they demonstrated a commitment and dedication that filled the entire Anáhuac Community with pride. We cannot forget the essential role of the coaches and, above all, the families of our athletes. Their unconditional support, constant motivation and daily sacrifice are essential stepping stones on the road to success. The achievements of our athletes are also the result of the collective effort of a team that shares the same passion and dedication.

Messages from the authorities and athletes
During the event, several of the athletes and authorities offered inspiring messages. Osmar Olvera Ibarra thanked Anáhuac University for its support, stressing that “sport and studies can go hand in hand if we are clear about our objectives.” Luis Mario Nájera, runner-up in Para Taekwondo, mentioned the importance of education for their future, thanking the Anáhuac program for providing them with a solid platform to continue their academic education while competing at an international level.
The Rector, Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, emphasized the effort and dedication of each athlete, noting that "they have shown that sport is not only about winning but also about representing the values of our university and our country." He also reaffirmed the commitment of Anáhuac University to continue supporting its students through the Elite Sport Excellence Program.
An event to make the university proud
This tribute not only highlighted the sporting achievements but also celebrated the dedication and effort of all the Anáhuac Lions who represented the University in Paris 2024. The ceremony concluded with a message of hope and confidence that the students will continue to achieve imporrtant goals at both the sporting and academic levels.
