This program is designed to prepare researchers and professionals from various disciplines to address ethical issues in their research. Offering solid training in ethical principles, the diploma promotes responsible and ethical research practices in Mexico.

Ethics in research is a fundamental pillar in the search for scientific knowledge in Mexico and around the world. The scientific and technological advances that have marked the course of history would not have been possible without rigorous respect for the ethical principles that guide research. In the Mexican context, Research Ethics Committees play a crucial role in promoting and supervising ethics in research.

In Mexico, as in other places, research ethics are based on the Declaration of Helsinki, and other national and international documents. These guidelines establish essential principles, such as informed consent, independent ethical review, and protection of participant confidentiality. The CEIs operate in academic institutions, hospitals and research centers, both public and private. Its role is to evaluate the ethics of the research, as well as the design of the study, the protection of participants and the suitability of the researchers. In addition, they must ensure that the projects comply with the legal and ethical regulations in force in the country. The CEIs are fundamental to guarantee that research in Mexico is carried out in an ethical and responsible manner.

Research Ethics Committees (RECs) are entities in charge of reviewing and supervising research projects to ensure that they comply with ethical and legal standards. These committees are made up of experts in various disciplines, as well as representatives of society, with the aim of providing an impartial and balanced evaluation.
