The presence of academics at international events is essential to strengthen the Anáhuac network of connections and promote research in bioethics at a global level.
On March 14, 2024, Samantha Cervantes, member of the Anáhuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics (CADEBI), participated in the ACS Surgical Simulation Summit 2024 congress held in Chicago, an event in which she presented her research project titled “Pulmonary Embolism Training Model in Fresh Frozen Cadavers,” which was developed in collaboration with Methodist Hospital in Houston.
The ACS Surgical Simulation Summit is a conference focused on medical education and simulation, a space where medical professionals from various parts of the world come together to analyze innovative technologies, discuss revolutionary simulation research, and generate networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The project presented arose during her year of internship in Houston, where she established contacts with leading doctors in the published procedure. This connection gave her the opportunity to join the research team and contribute to the development of the cadaver model for training in the management of pulmonary embolism.
The CADEBI team is proud of the commitment demonstrated by Samantha Cervantes in this international conference, an example of the promotion of the participation of our members in academic events of global relevance, such as the ACS Surgical Simulation Summit 2024, since we consider it to be essential to strengthen the Anáhuac's network of connections and promote research in bioethics at a global level.
