Alejandra de la Cruz and Ángela Hernández offered their perspectives on the ethical implications of making a diagnosis and did a complete ethical analysis of the available treatments.
On April 17, 2024, the Anáhuac Clinical Bioethics and Neuroethics group (BINCA), which is part of the Anáhuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics (CADEBI), held its monthly session in which experts addressed the ethical implications of diagnosing and treating neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
On this occasion the invited speakers were Alejandra de la Cruz Romano, Lic. in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation with Master in Bioethics, and Ángela Hernández Suárez, Lic. in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation and Doctor in Health Sciences, both are recognized experts in this field of specialization.
During their presentation, the educators addressed topics such as ethical considerations when making a diagnosis and did a complete ethical analysis of the available treatments. Participating students engaged in a stimulating and enriching dialogue, exploring the ethical complexities surrounding this field of study.
CADEBI continues to be a vital space for dialogue and reflection on bioethical issues, providing a platform to address various topics of great interest and relevance from a clinical and ethical perspective. This presentation was a testament to the importance of this center in promoting ethical awareness and informed debate within the university community.
