This event marked the structuring of multi and interdisciplinary support models, emphasizing compassion for the care of women in situations of chronic degenerative health.
From November 9 to 11, 2023, the first palliative care congress of the Breast Cancer Foundation (FUCAM) was held, an event that promoted reflection on the importance of care for patients in terminal conditions, as well as for patients suffering severe health-related distress. It also addressed topics such as nutrition, pain management, and the approach to death as a natural process of human life.
At this event, Dr. David Cerdio Domínguez gave a lecture dedicated to reflecting on pain management from the perspective of global bioethics, emphasizing the importance of promoting a responsible culture around the care of all affected patients:
"Recognizing that culturally we are characterized by being an algophobic society is one of the first steps toward recognizing palliative care as a humane and humanizing strategy in health care."
With this participation, the Anahuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics (CADEBI) continues to work towards the achievement of its strategic lines, both in terms of collaboration and in the priority project of palliative care.
