CADEBI present at the II Forum of Academic Journals of Bioethics

This forum represents a significant effort to strengthen the development of bioethics in Ibero-America, bringing together experts and professionals committed to the advancement of this field.

On October 22, 2024, the II Forum of Academic Journals of Bioethics was held, an event organized by the Medicine and Ethics Journal of the Universidad Anáhuac México and the Medical Ethics Committee of Médica Sur at the Auditorio Médica Sur and was broadcast simultaneously, which allowed the participation of a wider and more diverse audience.  

One of the main activities was the presentation of Dr. David Cerdio Domínguez, coordinator of the Anahuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics (CADEBI), entitled "Scientific journals of Bioethics in Ibero-America", during which he offered an overview of the situation of Bioethics publications in the region and highlighted the importance of international collaboration for the strengthening of this field.  

Next, data, background and analysis of several outstanding academic editions in the bioethical field were shared, such as the Journal of Medicine and Ethics of the Universidad Anáhuac México; the Medical Gazette of Mexico, of the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico; Bioethics UPdate of the Universidad Panamericana and Anales Médicos of the ABC Hospital, among others.  

The forum also included a keynote speech by Dr. Raúl Carrillo Esper, who addressed the emerging role of artificial intelligence in the edition of academic journals, offering an innovative approach on how this technology can transform publishing in this area.  

The event culminated with a colloquium entitled "The Work of Universities and Bioethics Journals", where prominent figures in the bioethics field, such as Dr. Raúl Jiménez Pita, Dr. Gustavo Ortiz Millán and Dr. Stephanie Derive, shared their perspectives on the role of academic and publishing institutions in the promotion of bioethics.
