CADEBI Members Assist Hurricane Otis Victims in Guerrero

The medical brigade provided approximately 200 medical consultations addressing acute issues arising from this natural disaster, as well as chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and systemic arterial hypertension, exacerbated due to the lack of attention during this event.

 

In response to the emergency caused by Hurricane Otis on the coast of Guerrero, the organization CADENA carried out a medical brigade from November 16 to 19, 2023, with volunteers from the Anahuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics (CADEBI) participating.

 

During these days, MPSS Andrea Muñiz and Dr. Ignacio Ricaud actively participated in providing medical, dental, and psychological care in the communities of Coloso, Puerto Marqués, and El Bejuco, which were severely affected by this meteorological phenomenon.

Comprehensive assistance also addressed a wide range of needs by providing mental health care, recognizing the fundamental importance of preserving the dignity and emotional well-being of the affected individuals to strengthen the human fabric and promote comprehensive recovery.

 

The brigade offered medical care without discrimination in environments where resources are scarce, working to address disparities in healthcare and promote justice in the distribution of resources, thereby mitigating existing gaps.
