CADEBI Councilor participates in the Mexican National Academy of Bioethics

Mexican National Academy of Bioethics

Dr. Alberto García, chairholder of the UNESCO Chair of Bioethics and Human Rights, participated and reflected on the concept of Bioaesthetics as a tool for education in values.

 

On September 21st and 22nd, 2023, Dr. Alberto García Gómez, member of the Advisory Council of the Anáhuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics (CADEBI), reflected on the concept of Bioaesthetics, a discipline focused on the comprehensive reflection of aesthetics and bioethics, presenting it as a tool for education in values.

 

He participated in the monthly session of the Mexican National Academy of Bioethics with the presentation titled “Aesthetic experience as an instrument for education in values” in which an exercise was carried out to identify values communicated through aesthetics in art.

 

Subsequently, he participated in the biweekly academic session of the Interdisciplinary Bioethics Seminar (SIB), where he talked about Bioaesthetics from the perspective of the transformative power of art in human behavior.

 

Through these presentations, the chairholder of the UNESCO Chair of Bioethics and Human Rights and dean of the Faculty of Bioethics of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, presented the Bioaesthetics research group, which is housed in the UNESCO Chair of Bioethics and Human Rights, and invited attendees to collaborate and contribute in this field.
