The work seeks to revisit the understanding and importance of the through discourse, as well as the bioethical contribution to a topic as relevant as the end of life.
The University of San Buenaventura in Colombia, along with its Interdisciplinary Center for Humanistic Studies (CIDESH) and the Interdisciplinary Group for the Development of Thought and Dialogical Action (GIDPAD), compiled some bioethics works addressing the need to create dialogical scenarios and summon synergistic efforts in favor of this discipline as a formative element for new generations in the educational field.
The work consists of six parts and 25 chapters, with contributions from authors from various Latin American countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Chile, and Colombia. These authors provide significant bioethics writings by expressing the importance of generating dialogue between humanistic disciplines and factual sciences, and between socio-humanistic knowledge and scientific knowledge.
The themes in this compendium are: bioethics and health; bioethics and society; bioethics and the environment; bioethics and technology; bioethics, education, and training; and Franciscan contributions to bioethics.
Aiming to create an academic space for the dissemination of discussions, analysis, and reflection to seek alternatives for facing new challenges of humanity, it is hoped to promote reflection on the conditions that lead humans to do science with a conscience.
