Dr. María Cristina Bribiesca, a surgeon with a master's degree in bioethics and specialized in pediatrics, spoke about the causes of this issue, consequences and some strategies to address it.
On June 20, 2023, the BINCA interest group (Clinical Bioethics and Anahuac Neuroethics) held its fourth session entitled "Ethical Analysis of Therapeutic Obstinacy in Pediatric Patients" by Dr. María Cristina Bribiesca, a surgeon with a master's degree in bioethics and specialized in pediatrics.
During the session we had the participation of students and teachers interested in this branch of bioethics, who learned more about therapeutic obstinacy in pediatrics, its causes, consequences and some strategies to address it.
Dr. Cristina shared her experiences on this topic and her point of view. At the end of the session, he addressed a series of questions related to how doctors should approach family members who face these types of situations.
