Angela Olazarán: Anáhuac student is recognized as the best student in the world by winning the Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2024

The Anáhuac University Network is proud to announce and celebrate the achievement of one of our most outstanding students, Ángela Elena Olazarán Laureano, who has been awarded the prestigious Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2024 , which recognizes her as the best student in the world. Ángela, a first-semester student of Information Technology Engineering and Digital Business at Universidad Anáhuac Xalapa, has been selected from more than 11,000 applications from 176 countries for her outstanding contribution to the development of innovative solutions with social impact.

Angela's award is largely due to her project Ixtlilton , a virtual medical assistant powered by artificial intelligence that is capable of diagnosing 21 diseases through a series of questions. This tool, named after an Aztec medicine deity, seeks to improve access to medical diagnoses in communities with fewer resources. Her work stands out not only for its technical excellence, but also for her commitment to the well-being of her community and her country.

At 17 years old, Angela has demonstrated a great ability to combine technology with service to society, qualities that reflect the values we promote at the Anahuac University Network. This project is a perfect example of how comprehensive academic training can transform the environment, helping to solve real problems and generate a positive impact on society.

Angela's success is nothing new. Since 2021, she has participated and excelled in various national and international competitions. Among her most notable achievements are 1st place in the CONALEP National Robotics Competition , the silver medal at the XXVII Veracruz Informatics Olympiad , and the appointment as Student Ambassador of CoSpaces Edu for Microsoft

Her constant effort to promote technological development in Mexico is not limited to artificial intelligence. Angela has also innovated in the environmental field, organizing students from different CONALEP schools to build a drone specialized in cleaning beaches, seas and rivers, showing a clear vocation to solve complex and relevant problems.

At the Anáhuac University Network, we feel privileged to have students like Ángela, who with their passion, effort and creativity are making history and marking a before and after in education and technological development in Mexico. As an institution, we will continue working to provide our students with the necessary tools to continue innovating and transforming society.
