Anáhuac University, host of the National AI Forum 2025 organized by the SEP

the National AI Forum 2025

Anáhuac University Mexico hosted the National Forum on Artificial Intelligence 2025 , a key event in the country's educational agenda, organized by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) through the Undersecretariat of Higher Education (SES) . The forum took place on the institution's north campus and brought together prominent academic, government, and research authorities to discuss the challenges and opportunities posed by artificial intelligence (AI) in education.

This forum marked a firm step toward designing a national strategy for the ethical, responsible, and relevant incorporation of AI into higher education in Mexico. One of the event's highlights was the announcement of the creation of the Interinstitutional Observatory of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education in Mexico (OIIAES) , an organization that will seek to integrate the vision and experience of various public and private universities in the country, with the goal of monitoring, generating knowledge, and proposing guidelines for the use of AI in the classroom.

Foundation of the Interinstitutional AI Observatory

The Interinstitutional Observatory on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education (OIIAES) was presented as a joint initiative comprised of representatives from both public and private institutions. Its main objective will be to promote the analysis, development, and evaluation of policies and projects related to AI in educational settings, with an emphasis on ethics, teacher training, curricular innovation, and the impact on learning.

The OIIAES will seek to become a national benchmark for generating knowledge about artificial intelligence in education, also serving as a bridge between the academic community, educational authorities, and society at large.

Voices that inspire change

Throughout the forum, panels and lectures were held with experts on technological, educational, and ethical topics. The forum discussed the current challenges in implementing AI tools in universities, the role of teachers in this new scenario, and the need to develop students with critical thinking and advanced digital skills.

Rector Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García emphasized the importance of “not losing sight of the fact that education is, above all, a profoundly human process,” emphasizing that technology should be a tool to strengthen, not replace, the bond between teachers and students.
